KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- There will be no let-up when the MIC Youth begins to register new voters to strengthen the party and Barisan Nasional (BN) before the 13th General Election.
Its Youth deputy chief, V. Mugilan, said it had outlined several strategies to embark on the registration process.
"We are racing to register about 200,000 MIC members, as well as others below 40," he said in a statement made available to Bernama today.
"As these young voters will be the lifeline for the BN government, MIC Youth is determined to secure and work hard on the youth vote," he said.
Last Saturday, at the 65th MIC Annual General Meeting, party president Datuk G. Palanivel had stated that MIC needed to go to the ground and register the 200,000 MIC members who had yet to register as voters.
If that could be done, he said, the party would have 600,000 registered voters.
